Letter To Voters
I sent out a letter to voters in the 39th District with some important information/ratings that you can see below:
About Me
After graduating high school I volunteered to serve in the US Air Force as an aircraft mechanic (F-4 Phantom fighter jets). I was proud to receive two awards and later an honorable discharge. Afterward, I earned a degree in Biochemistry from Gonzaga University and I spent my career researching DNA and developing cancer therapies here in the Puget Sound area.
Over the years, my wife and I have enjoyed an active life of giving back. I was an Officer (Treasurer) in a 501(c)(3) charity that awarded grants to students studying Scottish music, dance, and language and I was responsible for the receipts, expenses and annual taxes for the non-profit throughout North America (Canada and the U.S). I’ve raised money for the Children’s Hospital in Seattle and coached basketball at the Boys & Girls Club. My wife volunteered as a leader in the Snohomish County 4H Equine program for several years, where our youngest daughter helped to teach younger girls how to ride and properly take care of horses.
During my career as a biochemist I oversaw laboratories that performed stability studies on our cancer drug. I worked closely with Ph.D’s to help them perfect their lab practices in order for them to produce the most accurate data; data that would later be submitted to the FDA. As a scientist producing accurate data was critical to the success of a drug undergoing clinical trials.
I also served in Olympia as a State Representative for four years. Learning the intricacies of exactly how our government works and being able to navigate the complexities of working with others and writing legislation that betters the lives of all Washingtonians was a fascinating, and rewarding experience.
I believe that my knowledge, training, experiences and background uniquely qualifies me to become your State Representative over my opponent.
Thank you for visiting my website and I would appreciate your vote for Snohomish County Auditor. Again, thank you!
Priorities
A Few of My Top Priorities
-
- We need to adequately fund our local police agencies to help ensure we all enjoy living in safe communities. I support law enforcement.
- Property taxes are too high. I support the elimination of State-level property taxes (making up approximately one-third of our property taxes). And we can do this without hurting education by funding education first. I support property rights.
- Traffic congestion relief is doable. We can start by adding additional lane capacity on our freeways, highways and roadways where needed. This also has the added benefit of creating family-wage jobs. I support Washingtonians right to have safe and efficient roadways.
- We already pay exorbitant gas taxes. There should be no additional taxation on our travels by implementation of road and freeway tolls nor the creation of a ‘per-mile’ tax. I support less taxation on our travel.
- Parents, not government bureaucrats or government agencies, have the right and the responsibility to care for their children’s health, education and well-being by making sound decisions. I support parental rights.
- To help ensure all of our children get the best education money can buy education tax dollars should follow the child to whichever educational facility parents decide is best for their child. I support education freedom.
- Our election processes need to be transparent for all to see and witness. Washingtonians should not have to rely solely on the government to announce who the winning candidates are. And everyone who wants to vote needs to demonstrate that they are legally allowed to vote. I support election reform.
- Medical decisions should be made by doctors and their patients, not the government nor government agencies. I support medical freedom.
- $30.00 car tabs should be the maximum Washingtonians have to pay in order to get their tabs. I support the reduction or elimination of car tab fees.
- It should go without saying that our state and local government officials should defend and obey the state and federal constitutions. This is critical for safeguarding our Constitutional Republic. I support the rule of law.
- Here in Washington our income is our property. Government cannot, by law, tax the income of its citizens without citizen approval. I support the property rights of Washingtonians.
